Traben-Trarbach is located halfway between Koblenz and Trier, and between the Eifel and the Hunsrück on the other side is an excellent base for a variety of leisure activities.
In the ‹Moseltherme› with the natural spa water (33° C) you will find several wellness offers and swimming. The Mosel river itself invites you on boat trips. For those who want to do hiking tourist the valley and hills of the Mosel offer spectacular trips beside the ‹Moselsteig› in the staggering vineyards as well as in the small wild romantic side valleys and on the wide heights of Eifel and Hunsrück. For those interested in art and culture you will find beautiful Art Nouveau buildings in Traben-Trarbach or an important collection of 2000 Buddha statues in the ‹Buddha-Museum›. You can also see the medieval timber framework in Berkastel, Roman relics and more in Trier, as well as many more locations worth visiting in the area such as the abbeys of Springiersbach or Himmerod or the Burg Eltz.
Furthermore, you can get to know the world-famous Mosel wines everywhere. In common conception this valley is one of the oldest and best white wine regions of the world. And Traben-Trarbach at the turn of the century was the second largest wine-trading town in Europe after Bordeaux. You can find it in the old stylish vaulted cellars underneath Traben-Trarbach together with regional arts and crafts and a wide selection of wintery delicacies.
